The parish was established in 1883 with the construction of the church in 1886. The parish had a total of 2105 souls in  1909 and in 1919 had grown to 2153 souls. 

 

The church was made out of wood.

Graf (Krutoyarovka), a German Catholic colony, was established on the "Wiesenseite"  or "meadow side" of the Volga River on the 10th of June 1766. The colony was founded by LeRoy and Picet.
