The immigrants of 1764-1767 founded 104 villages in the middle Volga region near the city or Saratov, 44 on the Bergseite (west of the Volga) and 60 on the Wiesenseite (east or meadow side). Rothammel (Pamyatnoye), Russia was founded on the Bergseite on August 21, 1767 by Baron de Boffe with a population of 28 families, 51 males and 49 females.  This was a Roman Catholic colony.

Parish founding (and membership): ? - independent parish; 1887 - 2400, 1909-1909, 1919 - 2185.

A few years before WWI [the] Seewald community (Verchovye) was a branch of Rothammel.
