NEU-OBERMUNJOU, RUSSIA

Neu-Obermunjor was started on or about 1859 to provide additional farmland for young couples from the colony of Obermunjou, Russia.  In 1859 this colony had a population of some 1053 souls.  When doing research on this colony I asked Dr. Pleve to send me a list of the the surnames that settled in that colony.  Below is that list.

Arnold Baumann Bechler Becker Bettschmer
Bieker Brull Doerfler Dreher Ecksner
Frank Geist Graf Krapp Leiker
Mattern Nuernberger Pfannenstiel Riebsam Rumbach
Schneider Seifert Seigel Spoetter Torban
Unrein Vogel Waldschmidt Wendeler Wolf
