Emmerman, Kansas
Est. 1899

On August 3, 1876 a large group of immigrants landed at Victoria, Kansas.  Of this group, the following settled in what is now know as the Emmeram area.

Alois Denning family, consisting of eight members, settled two miles of what is now the Emmeram church site.

The Michael Denning family, consisting of six members, settled one mile west and two miles south of the church site.

John Windholz, a single man, made his home a short distance east of the church site.  These people settled where they did, because there were no homesteads nearer to the railroad.

On September 15, 1878  another group of immigrants came to Victoria, Kansas.  Of these, two families settles in the Emmeram area.  They were the Valentine Weigel family, consisting of eight members;; and the Johannes Windholz family consisting of twelve members.  This Johannes Windholz is the father of John Windholz, who homesteaded in 1876.
